Projects: Work Experience Video FAIL

I've put together a blog with my CV and personal information (see it there, above? Click Work Experience). I created this site as a means of introducing myself to potential employers.

I find the job application process to be ridiculously outdated for our day and age. How is a short-form piece of paper supposed to properly introduce me to an employer who seeks to take on such an important role in my life? It speaks nay of my personality, nor does it speak to my social capabilities and/or presence. This very much bugs me. And so, I am attempting to create an interactive, visually appealing depiction of my work experience, paired with personal information.

This week I decided I wanted to include a video of myself speaking about my previous work experience, my skills and abilities. I intended for the video to showcase my presence and personality.

I put a good amount of time into writing out a script detailing my step-by-step work experience:

I then attempted to film it in different segments, from different angles. I've never been one for memorizing skills, so I fumbled over and over again to get a good take. The whole process was unbearably frustrating and in the end all the videos came out looking completely unnatural and forced, each one of them made me shudder. Here's just one of the segments:

If you think this isn't too terrible, it's because it's the only I could show without cringing. I'm sure it's not as bad as I make it out to be, but I'm really keen to re-try myself at this effort. I feel that if I don't script out the material and can just speak to the camera candidly about my experiences, then I'll be much happier with the results. This is easier said than done, but it's something I want to become more familiar with for blogging purposes.
